- After reading the first few chapters, write a letter to the author telling him what you expect to happen next and what questions you have.
- After reading the first three chapters, check out internet articles on the book, its author, and its content. Write a one page synopsis on what you have found.
- Rewrite a scene and change the perspective of the main character (aka from Jonathan Harker to another character) to show how someone else might act differently.
- Bring in art related to the books' time or themes. Compare and discuss them in an essay.
- Create a PowerPoint going over what details might have been overlooked during our synopsis of the first three chapters.
- Write an essay on how four gothic elements have been portrayed in the first three chapters and how you would add more to them.
- In a presentation, discuss how journaling helps or harms the narrator's ability to tell the story.
- Explain the description of Dracula and how the gothic elements have been shown in said appearance.
- Write a four page research paper on the background of the novel and the author. (extra credit opportunity)
