In creating the newsletter, I did not know what to expect because I have not seen a newsletter, especially a weekly one, since elementary school. As I had a twelfth grade audience, it took me a little bit to get into the swing of what should or should not be included. I do like the idea that parents and students know what to expect from the week because it gives responsibility to the reader. I have set up this newsletter to be able to use it in my future classroom. The newsletter reminded me about what parents need to know and reminds the teacher to keep on track. It has great relevance to the individual classroom but I do think that it will become tiresome if I had 6 different periods doing something different. But, if all classes were the same, it would not be so difficult to keep straight. I know that, as a teacher, it is my responsibility to communicate with students and parents. By keeping such a connection it will better the students learning and stability in the long run.
